Writer Spotlight is our way of giving back to you forum members and offer a bit of exposure for all writers here.
Should you be chosen as 'Writer Spotlight' you will be feature on the homepage as well as any official Where Worlds Collide side-site.Please read everything before posting, thank you!
Must be an active member.
Unfortunately, we will not be advertising people who are not active. It would defeat the purpose of this event to suggest someone that is either not active or a member of our forums.
Must have been a member longer than a month.
This is to allow the list to be a bit smaller and prevents some degree of scamming.
Must have no ACTIVE warnings.
This means Official warnings that have not dropped off yet. If they are currently under 'warning' for whatever reason from staff, they cannot be featured until that 'warning' has been lifted.
Must actually write.
This is of course anything written fanfiction related. Chaptered stories, one shots, song fics, etc.
Those that do not meet these requirements, will not be featured.
What you will get as write of the month
There is no momentary prize for being randomly chosen as the 'Writer Spotlight' but you will receive a bit of free exposure on our forums portal and future side-site.
Feature on our Forum Homepage:
You will have a feature on our forum homepage, thus displayed there will be:
- A link to your profile
For the portal, the image must be this exact size:
Width: 100 | Height: 138
It's a slight resize of our current avatars.
What will be displayed is entirely up to you.
If you want more than one picture displayed and they fit the size, go for it! You can also submit an animated picture or gif. However you must make it yourself as a staff member will not.
- A short biography of yourself
This part is pretty much up to you what you want to write about. It's just a block of text and as long as what you can say is appropriate, it will be put up.
Some ideas can include:
- About yourself
- What you like to write
- What got you into fanfiction
- How long you've been writing
- Why you like Where Worlds Collide
- What inspires you
- Where you'd like your stories to be in the future
- Why you like doing writing fanfiction
You can also ask one of your friends or readers to those that suggested you to write something about you.
[ OPTIONAL ] Side-Sites Feature:
As of this moment, we have no side-site such as; Facebook, Tumblr or Twitter. Should we set up off side-sites, after you've already been featured, you have the option of being featured there or not. Here is what will be featured:
Direct links to pieces of your choice:
The stories that you find are your best will be directly linked. On Tumblr, we might offer an expert from one to three stories of your choice.
Links to various places
By default, a link to your forum profile.
However, you have the option to also include links to your other profiles. Such as FF.net, AO3, Tumblr, Facebook, etc.
|If you're interested in being Writer Spotlight|
To put down your name to become writer of the month, all you have to do is post that your interested. If you were suggested by another member, you will be notified by a member of the staff and you have the option to accept or decline being Writer of the Month.
To suggest yourself, all you need to do is simple say: "I'd like my name down for writer of the month" (copy+paste)
There is no other form you need to fill out. You also do NOT have to fill out the information that would be displayed if you were writer of the month.
If you are chosen, you have a week to get that information together for your feature!
How Writer Spotlight is selected.
To prevent bias and favoritism, everyone who signs up or is suggested will be put through a generator and it will randomly select a name to be the writer of them month.
If you do not meet the requirements at the time that you were chosen, someone else will be picked until a time where you are once again eligible to be featured.
